ADU and remodeling contractor in Pasadena
Pasadena houses are older, tighter, and more watched than a typical tract lot. Craftsman bungalows, Spanish revival, and hillside streets all change how an ADU or addition should look — and how the city will review it.

We take Pasadena work because the houses are worth doing carefully: detached ADUs behind the main house, garage conversions where the family can spare the parking, kitchens and baths, and room additions that don’t look stapled on.
The first visit is a walk, not a pitch. You get a straight read on whether the yard, the garage, or the interior is the right place to spend the money.
Historic streets and design review
State ADU law protects the use in most residential zones. It does not automatically approve a street-facing wall, a new roof, or a window pattern in a historic district. We treat design review as part of the schedule when the address calls for it.
Side yards are the real jobsite
A lot of Pasadena ADUs live in the rear yard. Concrete, lumber, and a mini-split still have to get there. If the side yard is 36 inches and the neighbor’s fence is the property line, we plan the access before we promise a start date.
Old electrical, old sewer laterals
Pre-war and mid-century panels often cannot carry a second kitchen. Sewer laterals and water service get checked before the price firms up, not after the slab is poured.
Neighboring cities are different counters
Altadena, South Pasadena, Sierra Madre, and Arcadia are not the City of Pasadena. If that’s your address, say so. We work those building departments too, and we don’t submit to the wrong one.
Local questions
Do you only work inside Pasadena city limits?
No. Pasadena is home base for a lot of our calls, and we also build in Los Angeles County, Orange County, Fontana, and San Bernardino County. Nearby San Gabriel Valley cities are part of the same route.
Can you build an ADU on a hillside lot?
Sometimes. Slope, fire access, and how we get a concrete truck to the pad matter more than the square footage you want. If the lot is a bad candidate, you hear that before design starts.

Have a Pasadena address?
Send it. We’ll tell you which building department has the job and whether the idea fits the lot.
